Frequently asked questions
Is the BitForBytes Embedded Lab free?
Yes: every account gets 8 free credits a day (up to 24 a week). The electronics bench, the logic lab, logic gates, multiplexers, basic ICs, basic sensors and passive parts are always free, and so is the first run of every example.
What does a credit buy?
One press of Run. An Uno, Nano, Mega or Pico run costs 1 credit and an ESP32, ESP32-C3/C6, Pico W or STM32 run 2, plus 1 for each major part (displays, smart sensors, servos, I²C chips, Verilog chips) and 2 for each communication module (GPS, RFID, Wi-Fi, GSM, radios, SD card); a run never costs more than 5. Running unchanged code again is free.
How long do bought credits last?
Six months from the purchase (a college licence: one year). Free credits refresh every day and every Monday and do not carry over.
Can I get a refund?
Unused credit packs within 7 days, the semester pass within 7 days if barely used, unused licence seats within 14 days; the monthly plan can be cancelled any time. See the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
Why do prices differ between India and other countries?
Students in India see prices in rupees set for India; everyone else sees international prices in US dollars. The region is set automatically from your location.
Can I upload my code to a real Arduino, ESP32 or Pico?
Yes, and it is free and unlimited. Plug your board into a laptop, open the Embedded Lab in Chrome or Edge and press Upload to board: the lab compiles your code and flashes it over USB, with no software to install, and a serial monitor shows what the board prints. You only need a free account.
Do you have a plan for colleges and schools?
Yes: a teacher makes a class on the Classroom page and buys a licence for at least 30 students; every student who joins with the class code gets 850 credits for a year.
